How long does a full service project take?

 

We estimate that a full service design plan takes approximately 6-8 weeks from the time you approve the floor plan to the time we are presenting the completed design plan to you. From there, ordering begins and that process usually takes 12-16 weeks, or longer, plus additional time for shipping and freight. Most of our contracts are in the seven to twelve month range for standard full service. At the end of your contract, your room(s) will be complete!

 
 
 
 

What is your markup?

We have relationships with over one hundred trade partners and price our items to cover the cost of procurement, product management, inspection, and installation, as well as our liability. When items arrive damaged or incorrectly, our team handles it behind the scenes working with the vendor, receiver, and local repair team to rectify the issue quickly.  We price our items to be competitive with retail when possible.

 
 
 

Who will my designer be?

 

Every project is designed by both designers, Melinda and Suzanne. In addition to that, you’ll have the support of our whole team throughout the entire process. 

 
 
 

CAN YOU RECOMMEND TRADES?

 

We have a team of trades we use on all of our full service projects when this type of work is specified. We will manage the estimates, overseeing their work, and providing them with the information to complete the job. No need for you to google search or price shop. Our professional team consists of  painters, a wallpaper hanger, a carpenter, a handyman, an upholsterer, and a window treatment workroom. We are not general contractors and have several local area builders who we recommend to our full service clients who are renovating or building. 

 
 
 

CAN YOU WORK MY EXISTING PIECES INTO THE DESIGN?

 
 

What kind of budget should I have for full service design?

 

All spaces are designed as if from scratch, so we can’t guarantee your existing pieces will work (although we are happy to incorporate them if they will achieve the overall aesthetic you are hoping to achieve). Special consideration will be given to heirloom items and antiques so long as they do not compromise your design. If you have a lot of existing items you’d like to keep or repurpose, a Designer for a Day session might be a better fit for you.

 

Our full service interior design budget for a room that is completed down to the last accessory ranges from $150-225/square foot. For our full service projects, we have a three room minimum and require a project starting budget of $100,000. WILL YOU SHARE YOUR TRADE DISCOUNT WITH ME?

 

We have certain requirements we must meet and maintain to open our trade accounts and keep them in good standing. While we do our best to price our goods to be competitive with retail, there are times when we can’t beat big online retailers or box stores. In these instances, we may be able to provide you with the information to purchase on your own.

 
 
 

What kind of budget should I have for a designer for a day session?

 

Our designer for a day service is for single room furnishing projects. Clients should have a budget between $30,000 and $100,000 for furnishings and accessories selected during their design session. Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

 

Our studio is open Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends are reserved for our families. We do our best to accommodate our clients' busy schedules and have done consultations and presentations remotely with no issue.

 
 
 

WILL YOU PHOTOGRAPH MY PROJECT?

 

We love photographing our full service projects. We ask permission at the time of contract signing. We submit our work to local and national publications, and have a section of our contract that allows you to opt out if preferred. We never give out our clients' names or addresses.

 
 
 

WHAT’S THE INVESTMENT?

 

Our designer for a day service is $4,500. Our full service design fee begins at $15,000 and we have a three room minimum.

 
 
 

I’M NOT IN illinois. DO YOU TRAVEL?

 

Yes, we love working in communities outside of our own and are available to travel for select full service projects. Your customized proposal will detail what’s included as well as the travel fee. We are currently working on vacation home projects in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Wisconsin.
